NOVETE vs HAVA Countertop Dishwasher: Same Box, Different Claims
These two countertop dishwashers are the same size to within one percent and weigh the same to within 300 grams. What their listings claim is not the same: 10 dB apart on noise, five programs against eight, and a voltage field that contradicts the rest of one listing.

Both of these are small countertop machines in the same price band, and in our catalogue of 52 household-size countertop dishwashers they sit almost on top of each other physically. The table shows only figures that two independent transcriptions of the listing agree on: our review’s table and Amazon’s own detail page. Where a figure is missing from one or the other, or they disagree, it is marked and discussed below rather than printed as fact.

The size is identical, so the rest has to do the work
The NOVETE measures 16.9 × 16.8 × 18.1 in and the HAVA 16.75 × 16.86 × 18.05 in. Their exterior volumes, worked out from those dimensions, are 84.2 and 83.5 litres, a difference of under one percent, and they weigh 12.7 and 13 kg. Across the class the median exterior volume is 83.3 litres, so both are exactly typical: this is one of a large group of countertop machines built to the same envelope, which the countertop class report measures.

What that means for a buyer is narrower than it sounds. Two machines of the same size and weight can differ completely inside, and we cannot see inside them from a listing. What we can say is that the listings do not give you a size-based reason to pick either. The HAVA’s review table quotes an interior of 13 × 13.77 × 10.83 inches, which works out to about 31.8 litres, or 38 percent of its exterior volume. The NOVETE’s interior is not stated anywhere we read, so that ratio cannot be compared. It is still worth holding on to: on a compact countertop machine well over half the outside is tank, pump, heater and casing, and the four place settings the NOVETE claims have to fit in what is left.
Noise: a 10 dB gap, and how to read it
The NOVETE states 50 dB and the HAVA 60 dB, and our review tables and Amazon’s detail pages agree on both. A 10 dB difference is ten times the sound power. By the usual rule of thumb that every 10 dB sounds about twice as loud, it is roughly double the loudness to a listener, which matters on a counter where the machine sits at head height.

Against the class, the NOVETE is a little quieter than typical and the HAVA is in the louder quarter. Neither listing says how the figure was measured, and manufacturers measure differently: a number taken in a test room on a quick cycle is not what you hear in a small kitchen on the intensive one. Treat the gap as a statement of intent, not a measurement. It is still the most decision-relevant difference in the table, because it is the one that changes how the machine feels to live with.
Where the listings contradict themselves
The HAVA’s voltage. Amazon’s specification field gives 220 volts. A standard US household outlet supplies 120 volts, and a 220-volt appliance would not run from one. Nothing else in the listing says it needs a dryer-style outlet, and the tank-fed, plug-in design suggests it does not, but we cannot resolve the contradiction from what is published. Ask the seller to confirm the voltage before ordering. Two of the 52 countertop units in our catalogue list 220 volts; this is one of them.
The HAVA’s energy figure. The same listing gives its energy consumption as “950 KW”. A kilowatt figure that size is impossible for a countertop machine; it is almost certainly 950 watts with the wrong unit, which would match the NOVETE’s stated 950 W. At 120 volts, 950 watts is a draw of about 7.9 amps, well inside a 15-amp kitchen circuit, though not something to share with a microwave.
A check on the HAVA’s annual figure. Our review quotes 150 kWh a year for the HAVA. At 950 watts, that many kilowatt-hours is about 158 hours of heater time a year, and US energy labelling is based on roughly 215 cycles a year, so the figure implies about 44 minutes of full-power heating per cycle. That is plausible for a machine that heats its wash water and dries with hot air, but the listing states neither a cycle length nor a heater duty cycle, so the figure cannot be confirmed from what is published. We did not measure it.
Which suits which
The NOVETE suits you if
- the stated 50 dB is a priority. It is the quieter of the two by 10 dB and below the class median;
- you want the plainest specification: five programs, a 5-litre tank or a faucet connection, and a listing that states 120 volts and 950 watts without contradiction;
- four place settings covers how you eat. That is the stated capacity, and the listing adds that plates up to 12 inches fit when loaded at an angle;
- you like a dedicated high-temperature Baby Care/Heavy program. The listing gives it a 167°F wash.
The HAVA suits you if
- you have hard water. The listing presents a built-in softener with a setting chosen by water hardness, which the NOVETE does not mention;
- you want more choice. Eight programs against five, and a child lock, are on its listing;
- you can live with the louder stated noise and you have confirmed the voltage with the seller first;
- an annual energy figure matters to you. The review quotes one, and the NOVETE listing gives none.
What this comparison cannot tell you
Nothing here was tested. We did not run either machine, so we cannot say which cleans better, whether the HAVA’s softener needs salt, or whether either gets a single-load of dishes dry. The listings say both dry with heated air, the NOVETE for an automatic hour after the wash on most programs, but they describe a method and not a result. The sizes are close enough to raise the question of whether they share a design, and nothing in the listings lets us answer it. If one of these details decides your purchase, the manufacturer’s manual is a better source than either listing, and the two reviews on this site go through what each states in full: the NOVETE review and the HAVA review.
